What I’ve learned about Breast Implant Illness

August 2, 2018 By diana 1 Comment

I will start by saying that I do not have breast implants, but it is something I always thought I might consider after kids. Until recently….

Breast implant illness is something I have been hearing about everywhere lately (seriously in just the last month) and I, as always, just want to share the knowledge and educate my gals with what I have learned.

It started off with a couple of my clients mentioning to me that they are scheduled for their appointment to remove their implants. Girls in their 30s. They told me how much they have learned and researched about how unhealthy these plastic bags in your body are. And apparently there is a huge movement of women getting explant surgery and massive Facebook groups discussing this. Who knew?! Now I’ve seen some not so great boob jobs, but also seen very natural looking ones that look great on women. Who doesn’t want to improve their look and feel better about them selves and their bodies? No judgement here. I always say do what makes you happy.

Immediately after, one of my favorite Podcasters, Health Coach and over bad ass boss babes Angie Lee, starting posting about her scheduled surgery.  Here is her post:

Pretty crazy stuff. So then I proceeded to click on the hashtag #breastimplantillness and saw almost 14,000 posts from women saying how much better they feel almost immediately their explant surgery. I was shocked to read about this. It makes sense that our bodies reject foreign objects. Even an IUD lets say, a lot of times many women’s bodies will reject. Everyone is different and I am not a doctor, but knowledge is power.

Have you heard from Breast Implant Illness? Does this surprise you? Share you thoughts in the comments below.

  • Changing how we think about ourselves and how we react to situations can affect our feelings and when we affect our feelings that way, we can get better.
