Oh, I find this to be a very fun topic because we all know that everything I’m about to tell you is generally the opposite of what I’d normally suggest. Ladies, this is the one and only time I’ll tell you to keep makeup natural and it’s for an interview.
3 tips for Interview makeup:
- Don’t over sculpt. Make sure your skin is on point but contouring may draw a little more attention to your face and not enough to what you’re saying. Keep it light with powder contour for this one and keep the super shiny highlight off this time. For highlight, a nice glow is what you’re looking for.
- Keep things neutral. If you feel your best with eyeshadow on, I say go for it! But keep colors neutral. Add a little shimmer on the inner corner of your eyes to brighten them, especially if the interview is early in the morning. Same thing goes for lips, a bright red lip looks amazing for dinner with the girls but a pinky nude may be appropriate for this sitch!
- As always, make sure brows are on point. Brows are such a focal point for your face. They show expression and interest; both things you want to show in an interview. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out this post to make sure your brows are on point for the interview.
To be honest, even if you’re not riding the interview train, these tips can help you with any situation that requires a lot of attention. Makeup is amazing in the sense that it allows you to have control over where the conversation goes. Own it, girl!
